Rock Your World Friday--Week 3

I don't know where the week has gone. What is it about getting older that makes the time seem to pass so much more quickly? In the blink of an eye it's time to join up with Virginia again and revisit the happy moments from the week.

I'll start with my Saturday visit to my parents. They are both elderly now (88 and 90) and neither one of them really drives anymore so it falls to me to take my Dad out grocery shopping so that they can eat for the week 😀. Sometimes it feels like a bit of a chore as they live about an hour and a half drive from me, but I know that I am truly blessed that I still have them both in my life and the lives of my kids and grandkids.

Saturday evening was Chinese takeout for dinner (Mr R's choice as it was his birthday dinner). One word: nummy!

I've been trying to blog regularly and to that end I've been trying to get the cards done for my posts on the weekend. I would say it's been pretty successful. I only had one card that I had yet to make, but sadly, it didn't get done. Oh well, guess I'll just be posting it late.

That's about the extent of it this week, but I did spend it with family so it's all good.

I'll leave you with a poem that made me smile and will, I think, speak to most of us, no matter what type of crafting we do. I'll have to share this on Annie's Friday Smiles as well, because I think this counts!

Thanks to Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek for this fun poem!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

Happy Stampin'!
Michelle

  2. Ah I love the poem - that's fab. Yes having both parents is truly a blessing, I lost my Dad when I was only 16, the hole he left still exists to this day and never gets filled. although I must admit food shopping is not my favourite activity - by a long shot!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and week ahead, I've loved seeing your creative posts this week!

    Much love

  3. Hi Michelle,
Oh, I do love the poem (although I don't have a husband to have to explain to). What is it about a bent corner on paper - or even a book! My books have to be in prestine condition and if a magazine I want looks like it's been thumbed through a lot I get one from the back!

As for blogging, I haven't been doing it on a regular basis and I keep thinking that I will. I just bought a new home in November and am settling in. I started in the craft room which neglected the rest of the house. Now I told myself I need to get the rest of the house in order and then go back to the craft room!

    Happy Weekend.

    Hugs,
    Kay

  4. You are lucky to still have your parents around, and near enough for you to be able to help them with things like shopping. One of my older sisters is 89 and she is in hospital right now after a fall, but her daughters all live a long way from her and it is so difficult for them to visit.
You poem made me smile. I saw it somewhere this week too, but I am happy to have a reminder. I think we can all relate to the last bit! Kate x

  5. I LOVE that poem. Thankfully, I only have Bleubeard and Squiggles to answer to, and they don't care how much I spend on craft supplies (they know it won't be much regardless) as long as they have plenty of kibble and litter.

Thanks for sharing this, because I would love a stamp pad that didn't dry up within days of me bringing it home. Have a super Friday and rest of the weekend, too.
